There comes a point in everyone’s life when you’re watching TV and something so serious happens that yelling and screaming at the set isn’t enough- you feel the urge to go for the kill.
The Bobcats were supposed to beat the Heat tonight but Silas left Kemba out when it mattered MOST at the end of the game. So, (rightfully so) DJ Augustin took it upon himself to chuck a horrible shot from 50 feet with 2.9 seconds left on the clock.
That sound you just heard was a brick hitting the backboard.
Annnnnnnnnnnd cue my hammer hitting the plasma.
What kind of coaching job did Paul Silas think he was doing? I GET that Kemba’s a rookie and you don’t want to upset your “vet” guard by having him sit behind him at the end of the game. I GET that you may have even thought Kemba would’ve folded under pressure…wait, no I don’t get that.
Kemba isn’t one of those players that you have to wonder if he’s going to be able to make the transition to the big leagues. Why? Kemba doesn’t have a shooting game. Kemba doesn’t have a passing game. Kemba has a do-whatever-it-takes-to-get-the-W-because-he’s-never-scared game.
It’s the third game of the season, this kid is the future of your team- LET HIM BE GREAT! Spoelstra did it for Norris Cole- and he’s not even that good of a coach! Silas needs to stop trying to over coach and just do what makes sense! He tried to do too much and failed miserably.
Next time, just stick to the script Silas!
